I’ve been working on building up strength after treatment. Last year was a good start, with a couple of off-the-wagon periods (excuses - heat/smoke wave kept me off the bike for a bit late summer, and then it got cold and I’m apparently a fair-weather cyclist now). But, after the FancyBike™ was delivered before christmas, I’ve been riding every day. iFit’s instructor-led sessions are great, so I do about 30 minutes in the morning before work. And on Saturdays, I’ve been doing longer map-based rides that use Google Streetview imagery. The bike is really good, and the automatic incline motor follows elevation changes pretty well.
And - in the less than 2 months I’ve had it, I’ve already built back up to my fitness level from last summer. Amazing. I hope I can keep motivated to ride every day. Strava’s Fitness & Freshness chart is pretty good motivation. It looks like I’m hitting a plateau now, but that’s good. I’ll try to maintain that level and see where it goes once I can get back on my real bike.
